Fast Cars Craig Hilton

Craig Hilton is the lead guitarist of Fast Cars, and along with Steve he is responsible for the powerpop sound!!
He currently plays a Gordon Smith Anniversary model and a Fender Squire Stratocaster through a Fender amp.

Both these guitars can be heard on the Detour single "Best Friend" and album "Well... you started it!."
The guitar used on most of our previous recordings including "Coming ready or not" is an original Gordon Smith custom (No. 36)
which is owned by Chris Smith from the Company, Chris was our Sound Engineer during the 70's, and is still a good friend today, Craig also used John Smith's Strat.

Craig still lives in the Swinton area of Manchester, he's married with 2 sons. His youngest son, Rick, joined as Drummer in 2014.

UPDATE

Craig sadly passed away on 21st January 2021 following a 5 year battle with Colon cancer, never to be forgotten, the man behind the Fast Cars sound.
